The short version
StockMeta AI runs on your Mac and processes your photos, illustrations, and videos to generate metadata (titles, descriptions, and keywords). We do not operate servers that receive your content, and we do not collect, sell, or share personal information. When you choose the built-in local AI engine, your files never leave your computer. If you opt into the optional cloud engine, your images are sent directly from your Mac to Google's Gemini API using your own API key.
Your images and files
The app reads the image and video files you add only to generate metadata and show previews. Files are processed on demand and are not transmitted to us or to any StockMeta AI server — we don't have one. Generated metadata and exported files (CSV, XMP) are saved only where you choose to save them on your device.
Local AI engine (default, private)
When you use the local on-device AI engine, all analysis happens entirely on your Mac. No image data, metadata, or usage information is uploaded anywhere. An internet connection is only needed once, to download the AI model you select; after that the engine works fully offline.
Optional cloud AI engine (Google Gemini)
If you choose to use Google Gemini instead of the local engine, you provide your own Google API key, and the app sends the relevant image directly from your device to Google's Gemini API to produce metadata. That processing is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy:
Your API key is stored locally on your Mac and is used only to authenticate your own requests to Google. We never receive it. Using the cloud engine is entirely optional.
Information we collect
StockMeta AI does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not build user profiles. The app stores your preferences (such as chosen language, AI engine, and keywording settings) locally on your device using standard macOS storage. This information stays on your Mac.
Data retention and deletion
Because we do not operate servers that receive your content, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side — we hold no copies of your images, metadata, or personal information. The only data StockMeta AI stores is kept locally on your Mac, and you remain in full control of it.
- Clear your settings: open Settings in the app and clear the relevant fields (for example, remove a saved Google Gemini API key) at any time.
- Remove everything: deleting StockMeta AI from your Applications folder removes the app and its stored preferences from your Mac. Any metadata files (CSV or XMP) you exported are ordinary files that stay wherever you saved them until you delete them yourself.
If you used the optional cloud engine, any deletion of data held by Google is governed by Google's own policies (see below).
Purchases
Purchases and any free-trial status are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not see or store your payment details. Apple processes transactions according to the Apple Privacy Policy. Purchase tiers are validated on your device.
Children's privacy
StockMeta AI is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and post the revised version here. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
Your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws
Privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA in California give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to its sale or use. StockMeta AI honors these rights by design: we do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information, so there is no personal data held by us to access, export, or erase. We do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing to opt out of.
The data the app stores stays on your Mac and is fully under your control (see Data retention and deletion). If you choose the optional cloud engine, any processing of your images is carried out by Google under your own account and is governed directly by the agreement between you and Google; for requests relating to that data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about your rights, contact us using the details below.
